Co-ruminators. “I was in Kansas City to shoot a job for National Cold Storage and decided to use a day off to test with some models. I connected with the modeling agency Hoffman Models, who also recommended Paige Pelfrey for hair and makeup. I knew somebody that owned a building with office space under renovation, and they kindly offered me the space for a photoshoot. I wanted the hair and makeup to look and feel somewhat unfinished, reflecting the environment. I had just been reading about co-rumination, which is the discussion and revisiting of the same problems and negative feelings with peers, and this had me reflecting on friendship from my past. When I stepped into the space, it felt like a physical manifestation of the emotional landscape we had created in our friendship. That relationship became the reference point for our experience that day. We also created a short video together.”
