“From May 16 to June 30, 2022, Turin hosted an open-air exhibition dedicated to the 132nd Session of the Committee of Ministers of human rights organization Council of Europe. For the occasion, sixteen Italian illustrators displayed their works on the theme of values along the arcades of Piazza San Carlo and Via Po in an exhibition titled EUROPA, produced by the City of Turin, the Fondazione Torino Musei (‘Turin Museums Foundation’), the Palazzo Madama and governmental organization Regione Peimonte. In this artwork dedicated to Turin, I drew people arriving to the city via a cable car connected to the Mole Antonelliana, an architectural landmark in Turin. I wanted to depict the Alps, which border Italian territory, not as a barrier but as a welcoming backdrop.”
